“Our protagonist has lost his way in middle age life but is given one last chance to pull it all back together, he represents an IT company and is sent off with a team to Saudi to present a new communication system using holograms.
I enjoyed his voice, the story is good too, although nothing really happens, it’s the journey and the style of writing which won me over. It does end somewhat abruptly and disappoints a bit though.

“A collection of short stories which has some great reviews on the cover by Dave Eggers and Jonathan Safron Foer, both authors I enjoy and respect.
But having read the first two stories and 70 pages I’ve given up.
A very Jewish writer and not for me, but that’s literature, try it for yourself and tell me what you think

“Not an easy one to categorize as probably essays.
It began really well and then, for me, got bogged down in detail to literary references.
I confess I’ve not finished this book but am stopping halfway through.

“One of those classics which everyone told me I should read because it’s fantastic.
Not convinced at all, found it somewhat dull and uninteresting. The best thing about it is the style of writing which back in the day would have been memorable, but today there is some equally good writing (if not better) which won’t be marked as ‘a classic’
