Yep I’m recommending this brooding thriller. What she does so well is take the reader to the heat and remoteness of Australia. Wrap this up to a murder mystery with some dysfunctional family members and what’s not to like. A man is found dead in the middle of his Australian desert. There’s no rhyme or reason for him to have been there, miles away from his well provisioned, working car. His other two brothers try to work out what has happened.

BookPub reading group. A dystopian novel. What the author does very well is deliver the sense of cold and boredom. In a world where England is protected by a wall around the coast from ‘others’ trying to get in. A modern day National Service the youth are enlisted to guard the country. But fail and you are left adrift outside the wall where the unknown is. The group also scored average 5.5/10 particularly good narration on this recording.

How likely is this story to be creditable, and even so is it interesting enough? Okay so it is covering a different generation of man and wife. Made into a film, probably better off watching that.

The first of a new (Waterstones) reading group. I liked this novel by Japanese author. Simple principal but hard to pull off? You are diagnosed with a few weeks to live, the devil offers you a deal, but there are consequences… I’m recommending this to you
