“The first in the DI Tom Thorne detective series.
I’ve read this for World Book Night, and handed it out around town.
Good London based thriller in which a killer is attempting to put women in to a coma state, mostly they die though. Why is he doing this and who is he? Enter Tom Thorne.
I’d probably read more of the series if I was into detective novels

“An interesting book by this debut novelist.
First hundred pages are hard work, so many words I needed to look up in the dictionary! Was this showing off?
The author works in journalism and I’m never keen on that style. BUT I’m so pleased to have persevered through because this turns into a black comedy and well worth reading.
Take a perfectionists flat in eastern block country, fill it with stylish decor and then ask your old Uni mate to look after it while you are away… outcome… read the book and enjoy.
Our book club gave this a healthy average of 5.5/10

“A romantic ‘blokes’ novel? Or a rival to One Day? It had this sort of feeling.
When a chap finds himself on a tube in London and has no memory, he heads to the hospital until someone can tell him who he is.
The story runs along and has moments of humour and makes you smile, and occasionally laugh.
So if you are going on holiday and looking for something light and easy to read take this.

“At his best here with this book A Wild Sheep Chase. Don’t worry that this is the third novel in the Rat series, it makes no difference to the story.
A marketing guy is living an unhappy lonely life when he gets a card from his old buddy ‘the rat’. This sets him of on the WSC.
Every part of this book is good and some bits are better than that.
Murakami writing is inline with my reading profile, I don’t have to understand the book to enjoy it!
