“Oops another Booker Prize Winning novel which I score low.
Billed as comic, not for me it wasn’t – mildly amusing in places at best.
Why did it win? Load of old tosh. Three men talking about being Jewish.

“An interesting and well written debut novel.
When Foss’s demented mother dies and her dying wish is to deliver a package, Foss has little choice.
He has however issues and is somewhat agoraphobic, caused by a tragedy we later discover.
His journey takes him off to Tokyo and beyond, where he meets a colourful Japanese student and they set about searching for the mysterious Mr Satoshi.
I liked this and will read his next. Book group a little less with 6.25/10

“Sold as ‘if you like Henning Mankell…’
A Swedish thriller on the island of Gotland, so far so good, Gotland has very strong history with medieval Vikings.
So we now have a serial killer and a secret sect. All the ingredients are there but this was a poor thriller, too slow and if I want twists and turns I’ll read Deaver or Larsson.
Our book group had a worse opinion…average 2.5/10 someone gave it zero points!
