Havana Fever by Leonardo Padura

In parts interesting and atmospheric and in other parts dull and long winded.
I liked reading a book set in Cuba, written by a Cuban, also the sense of the love of music and books.
A detective/noir novel. Good but not great.

This novel hits the spot. My sort of book.
A grand but fading house somewhere in Dorset is the setting for this eerie story. A family who have everything breaks down and falls apart.
Told throughout by the very odd elder sister. Slightly disappointing ending but very well rated debut novel.

Teens novel and not bad at all.
Brother and sister are making a living pretending to conjure ghosts using Victorian type methods.
Things change when the sister finds she really is seeing ghosts and the ghosts murderer.

If you like birds this is quite a nice book. You also have to like Rory McGrath.
It trundles along and has a certain charm. I’m not recommending it.
