Another fine book from one of my favourite authors. I’d urge you to read this black comedy. Mother and son leave NYC for Paris having lost/spent their fortune. They smuggle the cat along who features as things get a little crazy later on. I enjoyed the relationship between Mother and son particularly, dry humour at its best. A good book group read.

I’d describe this as a fairly decent crime novel. The author is starting a series and there is quite a lot of setting up. Based in India it has a good flavour and I’m sure will build into a good string of books. Our WS book group scored it 6.5, me 5/10. Not bad for a debut novel.

How likely is this story to be creditable, and even so is it interesting enough? Okay so it is covering a different generation of man and wife. Made into a film, probably better off watching that.

The first of a new (Waterstones) reading group. I liked this novel by Japanese author. Simple principal but hard to pull off? You are diagnosed with a few weeks to live, the devil offers you a deal, but there are consequences… I’m recommending this to you
