Another fine book from one of my favourite authors. I’d urge you to read this black comedy. Mother and son leave NYC for Paris having lost/spent their fortune. They smuggle the cat along who features as things get a little crazy later on. I enjoyed the relationship between Mother and son particularly, dry humour at its best. A good book group read.

A page turning novel to fall into and emerge with a happy glow. I don’t generally read this genre but made a lovely change. Nice one!

Not your run of the mill novel. I question what is going on and it’ll keep you guessing after the book is finished. Very well written. The obsessive mismatched newlywed couple. A dreamy novel. I like the wind swept setting and the cosy cottage.

Thoroughly enjoyed this latest offering from JLB. Wonderful narration by Will Patton. Dave Robicheaux has to clear his name after falling off the wagon and blacking out after an alcoholic bender. Everyone should read a Robicheaux novel, better still, listen to one.
