The plot (made for TV) rich white lawyer gets stitched…enter stereotype black prostitute woman (don’t forget the sob story) to help out.
It’s bound to sell well.

“Billed as Robinson Crusoe meets The Life of Pi…no chance, doesn’t even come close.
Historical tale of whalers in the Arctic who leave Thomas Cave behind over winter to deal with his grief.
I should have given up when the left him.

“This shortlisted (Guardian first novel) story of a family farm in Yorkshire and how circumstances force the family to break up.
Second son, Richard, leaves the farm and his older brother, and ageing father to manage when he heads for a career and life change in London.
The brothers don’t deal well with this, but for me the story wasn’t that interesting, I became bored and couldn’t care so gave up on page 112.
