“Winner of the Costa Award.
Canada 1865. What the author does well is give a vision of this frozen setting with splendid vividness.
Took me to long to read it which makes me think it’s not as good as everyone says it is.

“Hooray a good book!
This won the Costa novel of the year. A great spy thriller that makes you think. Switches easily from present to WW2, something other author can’t always master.
Read more by him…yes please.

“I listened to this delightful audiobook and loved it.
Full of mystery, myths and music. Ireland and presumably the world is split in two, our world and fairy world. Time is being lost from our world and added to fairy world, this needs fixing. The author won The Whitbread for this. Each chapter begins with some Irish music which she and her band play, lovely.
