Amusing and romantic work about a Danish harlot who time travels from 1890 Copenhagen to London present day. Great plot.
A bit of a caper and plenty good enough.
I would like to read another by this author but it would need a good recommendation for me to do so.

What a great book, brought to life in audio edition by Stan Pretty. Will I recommend Carey to others, yes.
The wonderful Butcher Bones and his dim brother Slow Bones. A tad slow paced but full of humour and descriptive prose.
The bit where Butcher gives the bugs and flies names using choice swear words is classic.

First novel since The Curious Incident of the Of the Dog in the Nighttime.
Not a crossover book though. He is a good writer.
Retired and with a dysfunctional family, this has a cast of great characters. It takes time to get to know and like them all but well worth it.
Funny and sad, thought provoking but never shocking.

“This Richard and Judy pick which was bought for me by my adorable partner, meant I had to read it, groan.
TV celeb GRJ’s autobiog begin from the earliest days to present. This writing reminds me what good writing is and this isn’t. Often I’d have to reread passages to make sense of them.
I never warmed to him and finished wondering why I’d bothered.
