“Great thriller. JLB has got to be one of the best dialogue writers, he doesn’t hesitate to treat the reader to his southern style.
It is hard hitting and not for the faint hearted.
Number 20 in the excellent Dave Robicheaux series

“His first novel and excellent.
Full of grit and Scottish humour. I met him a few times and he is an excellent speaker.
This is the first of many of his Jack Parlabane novels. Treat yourself and read it.

“He is a best selling American thriller writer so there must be a reason for this. I suppose his earlier work earned him this reputation.
I can’t really lay my fingers on why I’ll only rate it 5/10 perhaps ‘lacklustre’ sums it up.
