“Very good English detective novel set in Brighton.
I like the pace and style of this believable plot. I also like the characters. Yes read more from this series.

“No 1 best seller which I struggled to stay with.
Jung and Freud play their part whilst on lecture tour in New York 1910. Believed to be based on a true story.
Took me ages to read it which is a sure sign I wasn’t enjoying it…and because of this I didn’t really follow the plot.

“Set at a pivotal point in the history of Victorian London as plans are finalised for the overhaul of the capitals sewers.
The hero of the plot works as an engineer for Bazalette, he is haunted by events from the Crimean war and is a self harmer.
This is an intelligent and gripping murder mystery – the story is moving and involving.
I met the author (long after I’d given it a score) and she did plenty of research, including a tour of the sewers!
