I gather the author wrote this novel, his first, from stories he made up to tell his kids at bedtime.
He published it and sold the rights to Disney for a cool million, gave up work at the local super market and wrote a sequel.
The story goes that the magpies are killing off all the small bird species in Birddom.
Billed (excuse the pun) as the new Watership Down…nowhere near but fun anyway.
