“Thriller written 40 years ago and showing its age.
Looking back it’s clichéd…the sexy woman drives an MG etc
Cold war and nuclear subs in Scottish waters, a mystery and believable.
Back then they also wrote short novels, only 270 pages. But a murder mystery without any swear words…flip me!

“His second novel, and his first for twenty years.
Wonderful black comedy and I though very funny.
A sex obsessed door to door salesman spins out of control. His wife commits suicide and Bunny and Bunny Jnr go on the road in Brighton.
At times very sad, shocking, bizarre.
I totally recommend this, but careful don’t lend it to your Granny.

“Three siblings living in London and making their way into life.
The youngest has Aspergers, which makes for a different read. My problem was though…all of them seem to have issues. I think there was enough in the story to keep me happy, it could have stayed a bit simpler maybe and still had the same effect.

“First novel and very interesting piece of work.
It has the feeling of unease all the way through, which is a trick few pull off without laying it on thickly.
So what was true and what wasn’t? Nevis is 15 and lives with his father alone from the age of 4…in a transit type van. He has little experience or interaction with other people. He develops unhealthy love for his father.
Terrific read.
