“He is a best selling American thriller writer so there must be a reason for this. I suppose his earlier work earned him this reputation.
I can’t really lay my fingers on why I’ll only rate it 5/10 perhaps ‘lacklustre’ sums it up.

“He’s a good writer there’s no question about it. I liked Snowdops a lot. This next novel didn’t disappoint me.
Whilst travelling two lads meet up and decide to travel together. An event changes their lives forever. They stay life long friends but does the past catch up with them?

“A satisfactory murder mystery with well drawn characters.
Edinburgh, 1888. A talented violinist is brutally murdered in his home. Lovers of Sherlock Holmes might have a Marmite moment with this one. Black magic symbols cover the walls and two opposite detectives have to work together to solve the case.
