I’m busy telling everyone to get on and read this novel. It has a wonderful voice in Eleanor. Then there is a bit of mystery about it. It touches the heart strings and made me laugh too. All around excellent debut novel

Hells teeth I hated this book, but should you read it? YES. I’m completely wrung out after finishing it 8/10 onto the next in the series. Extremely intense, dark, brooding and menacing

Well how am I scoring this higher than The Metamorphosis? Some thing different about this novel we all really liked. Based on Max Brod and Franz Kafka, the author brings a (sort of) true story to a enjoyable read. Love, betrayal, literary rivalry. Good stuff. book group 7/10 me nearly and 8 but 7.75/10
