This thriller has something about it. I like the Australian setting and the author does a good job of delivering the heat and atmosphere. This is a debut novel and won best book in the Dagger awards. 6/10

I doubt people will be unaware of this book, it has been made into a very good TV drama which does justice to the book. This novel is full of interest and ideas that push the reader out of the comfort zones. I liked it.

This came with much praise and all the critics liked it. I have to admit after getting around halfway I ditched it. Another book comes along and sometimes you just have to give up if you are not enjoying the novel DNF. The thing was I really wanted to like this book – it gets rave reviews.
