“This is the follow up to his best selling ‘Gypsy Boy’
Apparently it’s not acceptable to be a gay gypsy, beat your childen and wife is fine, teach your kids to bare knuckle fight is expected. So when Mikey has feelings for other boys he has to keep this well hidden.
Not the most skillful of writers but nonetheless interesting if you like to see Romany culture.

“Highly respected travel writer Colin Thubron embarks on a massive journey from northern China, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, then through Iran and into Turkey.
This isn’t some Around Ireland with a Fridge type travelling writing nonsense, this is in depth.
I had the chance to hear him talk about his new novel about Tibet, sounds equally interesting.

“A riveting expose which presents the gut-wrenching truth about the price paid by the environment and animals themselves to put meat onto our tables…
Or another book banging on about animal cruelty?
Being a reformed veggie I know most of the details he is reporting so perhaps this is for those who mindlessly eat animals without understanding what/how it appears on our dinner tables.
Good author but I’d read his fiction rather than this.

“First time I’ve read TH and had high hopes.
He is literary and his writing good, I enjoyed some of his turn of phrases.
The story didn’t hang together and felt disjointed…I couldn’t keep track of the characters, Oh and it has a weak ending.
