“Fact based drama of a young mother who’s son is autistic.
She struggles to keep the family together and help her son who the doctors say should be in special care.
When an alternative expert gets results we find ourselves in a love story.

“After Fingersmith being so good I wondered if SW would be able to deliver?
Perhaps this is the reason she attempts a difficult literary manoeuvre, in The Night Watch we begin at the end, then read backwards to the start.
1947 -1940 war time London, splendid writing to give the reader a sense of how it was.
Love and betrayal. Yes she pulls the backwards trick off well, I enjoyed the book and look forward to the next.
