“Sometimes a book club chooses a book which has been introduced to them by a friend or friend of a friend, this self published first novel is one such.
Aliens visit the world and take over bodies just as they are about to die, they then live in these bodies. After a while they go back to their planet and report back. Against their nature of no passion or emotion some aliens become time locked and passionate about English football during the 1970!
This was a lad lit novel with some funny bits to it but frankly I’d rather read someone more accomplished such as Robert Rankin. Nice effort though and the group gave this a 3.8/10

“I met Sue Townsend after reading this her latest novel. A remarkable woman, disabled by diabetes but undeterred with life. Her son takes dictation, but when I asked her if he adds any ideas or content the answer was a define NO!
This novel didn’t do it for me though I’d loved the Adrian Mole early books.
Pretty much the title tell the story… mundane stuff.

“An interesting book by this debut novelist.
First hundred pages are hard work, so many words I needed to look up in the dictionary! Was this showing off?
The author works in journalism and I’m never keen on that style. BUT I’m so pleased to have persevered through because this turns into a black comedy and well worth reading.
Take a perfectionists flat in eastern block country, fill it with stylish decor and then ask your old Uni mate to look after it while you are away… outcome… read the book and enjoy.
Our book club gave this a healthy average of 5.5/10

“A romantic ‘blokes’ novel? Or a rival to One Day? It had this sort of feeling.
When a chap finds himself on a tube in London and has no memory, he heads to the hospital until someone can tell him who he is.
The story runs along and has moments of humour and makes you smile, and occasionally laugh.
So if you are going on holiday and looking for something light and easy to read take this.
