“A fresh new thriller novelist who has climbed the bestseller list.
An interesting angle in that his books are threaded with a missing persons theme.
London based and well done, I liked it. I also met Tim and he is a thoughtful and good speaker, I’ll read more of his. 6/10

“Introducing PI Bernie Gunther, OK so I’m a little late to the party but I was meeting the author and wanted to see why he had been Granta listed, having read his latest novel Prayer I couldn’t see why.
But this first novel was a brilliant read, full of life and cracking one liners, great descriptions and just what crime novels are often lacking. It doesn’t pull any punches either, getting darker as the novel goes to conclusion.
I want (yes want) to read the next in the series, rare for me, so please go and read this too

“This is the latest novel of Granta listed novelist.
A stand alone novel and probably a good job.
The best part of this is the authors character of Gil Martins, the plot I struggled with which revolves around evangelical religion and the wrath of God.

“A sort of mystery…
A world of gypsies is exposed when a missing girls father employs a detective who is joint protagonist with a gypsy boy, they tell the story.
Nothing wrong with this story, writing is ok, I just couldn’t maintain interest or enthusiasm easily.
