Some bright spark in our book group (and he is bright) had a good idea to get us to read a graphic novel. I liked the idea and tackled the book with an open mind.
An unknown event occurs and kills off the male species, oh hang on…yes you guessed it, all but one man. We then have rival women tribes, our lonely male had better watch out.
Corny, thin, rubbish, tripe. Nice illustrations though.

First novel and has good reviews.
Typical of critics to like this when it misses the mark. For me it tries to be to many things…is it a ghost story, a romance, a crime mystery or a historical novel? In parts this is good.
The story in a nutshell, A women is writing a biog of Isaac Newton, she believes he may have been a murderer who stands to gain rank as the top man in Cambridge University. So bring on a murderer in 1660 and you have historical literary thriller, don’t believe the hype or the blurb.

Commissioned by the Fleming Estate to write in the style of Ian Fleming’s James Bond.
All a bit simple and coincidental. A disappointing read.

Time shifts effortlessly from twins aged nine to now at 32. A near perfect example of how witting should be done.
Set in India this story revolves around a family tragedy. A complex novel and a seriously good read.
It won the Booker and alas nothing has been written by her since, if she does I’ll read like a shot.
