“Hooray a good book!
This won the Costa novel of the year. A great spy thriller that makes you think. Switches easily from present to WW2, something other author can’t always master.
Read more by him…yes please.

“Bleak, stark and very atmospheric. Post apocalyptic, this is almost poetic, McCarthy writes in a unique way, how he uses less words than most authors and get so much more.
This is not for the depressed. A Father and Son travel towards what they hope will be warmth, sunlight and food, survival.
This has all the sentiment stripped away, leaving grim and harrowing reading. One I won’t forget in a hurry.

Narrated by the author and done with a lovely pace. He took his trusty bike and cycled around Greece. Got to hand it to him, he’s an octogenarian.
